speccom

Also known asspeccom

Speccom is a China-aligned threat actor reported by ESET. In July 2025, it targeted the energy sector in Central Asia, including via spearphishing/phishing emails sent from compromised government addresses. ESET assessed the activity was intended to monitor Chinese-funded operations and gain visibility relevant to reducing China’s dependency on maritime imports. Reported malware and tooling associated with Speccom include a variant of the BLOODALCHEMY backdoor and custom backdoors such as kidsRAT and RustVoralix. The content places Speccom among China-aligned groups advancing Beijing’s geopolitical objectives.
