FAD Team is a pro-regime, pro-Iranian threat actor also referred to as the Fatimiyoun Cyber Team, Fatimion, Iran’s Resistance Hub, and the Fatimion Cyber Team. Reporting describes the group as focused on wiper malware, permanent data destruction, and other disruptive activity. It has also been reported conducting a global SQL injection campaign that leaked personally identifiable information (PII). Observed or claimed activity in the provided content includes unauthorized access to multiple SCADA and PLC systems in Israel and other countries; unauthorized access to control systems associated with more than 24 private devices belonging to an Israeli security services company; an attack against a Turkish media outlet; claimed control over network monitoring dashboards for firewall devices in Mecca and Medina, Saudi Arabia; disabling the Bahrain News Agency; and DDoS attacks against Qatari oil firm Gasco and Qatar Radio. Additional reported targeting included a virtual US Air Force group and educational institutions in France, India, and Vietnam. The group’s tradecraft in the provided reporting includes destructive operations using wipers, permanent data destruction, SQL injection, DDoS, and intrusions affecting industrial and control-system environments.
