Missing authorization check in SAP ECC / SAP S/4HANA (EHS Management) enabling credential extraction and auth bypass

IdentifiersCVE-2026-0503CWE-862· Missing Authorization

Due to a missing authorization check in SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC) and SAP S/4HANA (SAP EHS Management), an attacker can manipulate user parameters to bypass the password authentication check and extract hardcoded clear-text credentials. Successful exploitation enables unauthorized access to EHS-related functionality, specifically allowing access, modification, or deletion of certain change pointer information within EHS objects, which may in turn affect downstream/subsequent systems consuming that data. Reported impact is low to confidentiality and integrity, with no impact to availability.

ANALYST BRIEF

Impact, mitigation & remediation

What it means. What to do now. Patch path, mitigations, and the assume-compromise checklist.

Impact

What an attacker gets, and what they’ve been doing with it.

An attacker can (1) obtain hardcoded clear-text credentials and (2) bypass password authentication by manipulating user parameters, resulting in unauthorized access to EHS object change pointer information. This permits unauthorized reading and tampering (modify/delete) of change pointer data, potentially causing incorrect or malicious propagation of EHS changes to subsequent systems. The provided content characterizes the overall impact as low for confidentiality and integrity and none for availability.
