Out-of-bounds write RCE in Delta Electronics CNCSoft-G2 (DPAX parsing in DOPSoft module)

IdentifiersCVE-2026-3094CWE-787· Out-of-bounds Write

Delta Electronics CNCSoft-G2 contains an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the DOPSoft module’s parsing of DPAX files. Due to insufficient validation of user-supplied data within a crafted DPAX file, the parser can write past the end of an allocated data structure. An attacker can exploit this condition by inducing a user to open a malicious DPAX file (or otherwise process attacker-controlled content), leading to arbitrary code execution in the context of the current process.

ANALYST BRIEF

Impact, mitigation & remediation

What it means. What to do now. Patch path, mitigations, and the assume-compromise checklist.

Impact

What an attacker gets, and what they’ve been doing with it.

Successful exploitation can result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the CNCSoft-G2 process. Given the stated CVSS impacts (C:H/I:H/A:H), this can enable full compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability for the affected application context (e.g., data theft/modification and potential disruption of engineering/operations workflows on the host).

Mitigation

If you can’t patch tonight, do this now.

Until patches can be applied, reduce exposure by preventing users from opening untrusted/suspicious DPAX files, and implement controls to block or quarantine DPAX files from untrusted sources (e.g., email/web download filtering). Limit execution context and apply least-privilege for users running CNCSoft-G2 to reduce post-exploitation impact.

Remediation

Patch, then assume compromise.

Apply the vendor-provided update from Delta Electronics that corrects the DPAX parsing validation flaw (as referenced in the advisory content).
