DoS via crafted HTTP to Remote Access SSL VPN Lua interpreter in Cisco ASA/FTD
A vulnerability in the Lua interpreter used by the Remote Access SSL VPN feature of Cisco Secure Firewall Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) Software allows an authenticated remote attacker with a valid VPN connection to trigger an unexpected device reload, resulting in a denial-of-service condition. The issue is caused by the Lua interpreter trusting user-supplied input without sufficient validation. Exploitation is performed by sending crafted HTTP packets to the Remote Access SSL VPN server. The vulnerability does not affect the management or MUS interfaces.
