Cisco ISE RADIUS Policy API RBAC Bypass Information Disclosure

IdentifiersCVE-2026-20193CWE-284

CVE-2026-20193 is a vulnerability in the RADIUS Policy API endpoints of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). The issue is caused by improper role-based access control (RBAC) permissions on affected RADIUS Policy API endpoints. An authenticated remote attacker with read-only Administrator privileges can bypass restrictions enforced by the web-based management interface by directly invoking the affected API endpoint(s). Successful exploitation allows access to sensitive RADIUS Policy details that should be restricted for that role.

ANALYST BRIEF

Impact, mitigation & remediation

What it means. What to do now. Patch path, mitigations, and the assume-compromise checklist.

Impact

What an attacker gets, and what they’ve been doing with it.

Successful exploitation allows an authenticated attacker with only read-only Administrator privileges to obtain unauthorized read access to sensitive RADIUS Policy information on the affected Cisco ISE device. Based on the provided information, the impact is limited to confidentiality loss rather than code execution, privilege escalation to administrative write capability, or service disruption.

Mitigation

If you can’t patch tonight, do this now.

If immediate patching is not possible, limit access to Cisco ISE management and API interfaces to only trusted administrative networks and users, minimize assignment of read-only Administrator privileges, and monitor for direct access to RADIUS Policy API endpoints by lower-privileged administrative accounts. No specific vendor mitigation beyond standard access restriction is provided in the supplied content.

Remediation

Patch, then assume compromise.

Apply the Cisco security update or fixed software release that addresses CVE-2026-20193 for affected Cisco ISE versions. Because the issue is caused by improper RBAC enforcement in the RADIUS Policy API endpoints, remediation requires vendor-provided code changes that correctly enforce authorization checks on direct API access as well as through the web management interface.
