Remote Code Execution in Revive Adserver delivery limitations

IdentifiersCVE-2026-34916CWE-94

CVE-2026-34916 is a remote code execution vulnerability in Revive Adserver 6.0.6 and earlier. The flaw is caused by missing validation of user input when saving delivery limitations. A low-privileged user can abuse the logical parameter to inject malicious PHP code into the compiledlimitations field stored in the database. That injected PHP code is later executed during banner delivery, turning a stored code injection condition into server-side code execution.

ANALYST BRIEF

Impact, mitigation & remediation

What it means. What to do now. Patch path, mitigations, and the assume-compromise checklist.

Impact

What an attacker gets, and what they’ve been doing with it.

Successful exploitation allows a low-privileged authenticated user to achieve arbitrary PHP code execution in the context of the Revive Adserver application during banner delivery. The stated CVSS characteristics indicate high confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact, meaning an attacker could access or alter sensitive data and disrupt service, in addition to executing arbitrary server-side code.

Mitigation

If you can’t patch tonight, do this now.

If immediate patching is not possible, restrict access for low-privileged accounts that are able to save or modify delivery limitations, review and minimize ad-operations and administrative permissions, and monitor the compiledlimitations field and banner delivery behavior for unauthorized changes or signs of injected PHP code. These are temporary risk-reduction measures only; no complete workaround is provided in the advisory.

Remediation

Patch, then assume compromise.

Upgrade Revive Adserver to version 6.0.7 or later, or to the latest available release, as the vendor indicates that 6.0.6 and earlier are affected and later versions include improved input sanitisation and proper validation for the affected parameter. Ensure the fix specifically validates the logical parameter used when saving delivery limitations and prevents unsafe PHP content from being written into compiledlimitations.
