CVE-2025-61808 affects Adobe ColdFusion 2025.4, 2023.16, 2021.22, and earlier. The issue is described by Adobe as an unrestricted upload of file with dangerous type and is further characterized in supporting analysis as a logic flaw in the ColdFusion Administrator “Package & Deploy” mechanism for ColdFusion Archive (CAR) files. The root cause is insufficient validation of attacker-controlled file paths during CAR handling, including acceptance of Windows UNC paths that can reference attacker-hosted remote SMB shares. An authenticated, high-privileged attacker with access to the ColdFusion Administrator can cause the server to retrieve and process a malicious CAR file, which can deploy attacker-controlled content such as a web shell into the webroot, resulting in arbitrary code execution. Some reporting also characterizes the flaw as a directory traversal issue in CAR parsing tied to improper path validation in file operations. No user interaction is required.

An authenticated-administrator logic flaw in Adobe ColdFusion’s CAR (ColdFusion Archive) “Package & Deploy” feature that allows loading a malicious CAR from a remote SMB/UNC path, bypassing intended path validation and enabling deployment of a web shell to the webroot (leading to full server compromise/RCE).
A critical unrestricted file upload vulnerability (CWE-434) in Adobe ColdFusion (versions 2025.4, 2023.16, 2021.22 and earlier) allows a high privileged attacker to execute arbitrary code remotely without user interaction. The vulnerability is network exploitable and has a CVSS 3.1 score of 9.1 (Critical).
A critical unrestricted dangerous file upload vulnerability in Adobe ColdFusion that could allow arbitrary code execution.
