Stack-based Buffer Overflow in Tenda JD12L /goform/NatStaticSetting

IdentifiersCVE-2026-13519CWE-121

CVE-2026-13519 is a remotely exploitable stack-based buffer overflow affecting Tenda JD12L firmware version 16.03.53.23. The flaw is reported in the fromNatStaticSetting function associated with the /goform/NatStaticSetting endpoint. According to the available description, improper handling of the page argument allows crafted input to overflow a stack buffer. Public reporting indicates that exploitation can be performed remotely and that exploit code has been disclosed publicly.

ANALYST BRIEF

Impact, mitigation & remediation

What it means. What to do now. Patch path, mitigations, and the assume-compromise checklist.

Impact

What an attacker gets, and what they’ve been doing with it.

Successful exploitation may allow a remote attacker to crash the affected service or device and, depending on memory layout and exploit reliability, potentially achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the vulnerable process. Because the flaw is a stack-based buffer overflow in a network-reachable management function, impact can include denial of service and possible full compromise of the device.

Mitigation

If you can’t patch tonight, do this now.

If a fixed firmware version is not yet available, restrict access to the affected management interface and the /goform/NatStaticSetting endpoint to trusted administrative networks only. Disable remote administration if not required, place the device behind network access controls, and monitor for suspicious requests targeting NatStaticSetting with malformed or oversized page values. Segmentation and ACLs can reduce exposure until patching is possible.

Remediation

Patch, then assume compromise.

Update Tenda JD12L firmware to a vendor-fixed release as soon as one is available. Apply any vendor-provided patches addressing the /goform/NatStaticSetting handler and specifically the fromNatStaticSetting function. The vulnerable code path should be corrected by enforcing strict bounds checking on the page parameter and by replacing unsafe buffer handling with length-checked operations. Review adjacent request parsing logic for similar memory-safety issues.
