CVE-2026-40006 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Apache IoTDB affecting versions 1.0.0 through before 2.0.10. When the AirGap pipe receiver is enabled, the DataNode accepts unauthenticated raw TCP connections and processes an attacker-controlled 32-bit length value. The vulnerable logic reads the supplied length and passes it directly to a byte-array allocation without enforcing an upper bound, causing the JVM to attempt excessively large heap allocations. This can be triggered remotely without authentication against the AirGap pipe receiver component and results in memory exhaustion in the DataNode process.
