CVE-2026-41241 is a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in pretalx affecting versions prior to 2026.1.0. The flaw exists in the organiser search functionality in the backend, where submission titles, speaker display names, and user names or email addresses were rendered into the search result dropdown using unsafe innerHTML string interpolation. Because these fields can be controlled by users, an attacker with low privileges could store crafted HTML or JavaScript in one of them. When an organiser performs a search and the query matches the attacker-controlled record, the payload executes in the organiser’s browser in the context of the pretalx organiser interface.
